Entry Categories
Entries must be images or animations created using Intergraph Process, Power & Marine software as the primary tool. Subject matter should relate to the process, power, offshore or shipbuilding industries.
Working Views Taken as a screen capture, this image shows Intergraph software at a user level as a professional tool. Examples include clash detection, modeling of a small retrofit, a third-party stress analysis model, or any other readily available model. The image will probably be a detail shot and not a full plant. This type of simple rendering does not require shadows, surface treatments, and reflections. Showing technical aspects and usefulness of the software to the user is encouraged. Please provide with your entry a high-resolution image suitable for print.
Visually Complex Based on visual complexity shown in one image, this category is open to any type of plant - onshore, offshore, pharmaceutical, energy, food & beverage, etc. Although the entire plant need not be shown, a view highlighting complexity is recommended. A screen capture of this image will do; however, additional rendering - showing surface detail, shadows, and reflections - may help reveal complexity. Please provide with your entry a high-resolution image suitable for print.
Rendering and Ray Traces This traditional Golden Valve Awards category comprises 3D model images, highly detailed with mirrorlike reflections, smooth shading, fiery skies, and many colors. Images must be captured in high resolution and show the inherent beauty of a finely detailed 3D model. Please provide with your entry a high-resolution image suitable for print.
Animation This category encompasses movies or multimedia presentations related to the process, power, or offshore industries. Fly-throughs and sales presentations are some examples. It is preferred that entries not exceed five (5) minutes. Please provide with your entry a high-resolution image of a single frame suitable for print. If the model is not available, please contact the contest coordinator for alternative solutions.
